Choosing Cabo San Lucas as your destination wedding? There are multiple venues that offer all-inclusive options, and planning a visit to see these venues will need to be your first step. Imagine a warm sea breeze as you and your wedding party enjoy a beach rehearsal bonfire. Or make an entire vacation out of your wedding. Your dream wedding can be achieved anywhere, just as long as you have the right resources. Today I’d like to share some valuable insights I gathered when I photographed this destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas.

Research and Visit the Destination

If you’re planning a destination wedding, then your very first action is to research wedding venues in your country of choice. These venues will have an event coordinator that can provide you with all the resources you need. Information like sister resorts to accommodations and vendor recommendations. Once you decide where you want your destination wedding, make plans to visit the resort and meet the event team there.

Ask the Important Questions

When you finally decide on the venue for your destination wedding, you’ll want to look at the fine prints. There are some resorts that only work with preferred vendors. Los Cabos Sunriver Resort has their inclusive wedding packages, and require approval before an outside vendor can come on board. For this destination wedding at Cabo San Lucas, my couple and I needed approval before I can come on board as their photographer. If you already have a vendor team in mind, be sure to ask these questions before securing your destination wedding venue.

Pre-Wedding Itinerary

Planning a destination wedding will require extra planning, not only from you but from your guest. Be sure to provide as much information as you can. Creating a website and keeping them updated on any new information you receive will be beneficial to all parties. Add reminders about passports, shuttles, and hotel accommodations. Have something on the itinerary that you want photographed? Be sure to let your photographer know so they can plan for it.

Always Remember to Have FUN

We all know that wedding planning isn’t always fun, it’s a lot of work. But remember that your wedding day is only one day, whereas your marriage is forever. You can only plan so much. The most important thing is that you and your partner enjoy every second of it.
