Planning a Fall Wedding in Oregon

After being an Oregon wedding photographer for 5 years, I can wholeheartedly say, Oregon and its multitude of picturesque landscapes hold some of the best wedding venues. With bountiful colors and lush forest, it can be the perfect place to plan a fall wedding. So if you’re looking for ideas on how to plan the perfect fall wedding in Oregon, you’re in the right place. Read on for some tips on how to achieve a flawless Oregon wedding day.

Consider your Fall wedding colors

When you think of Fall, you imagine bold warm colors like orange, red, and yellow. Fall in Oregon is just that. As the leaves change colors, and the green landscapes start to shift to earthy tones, it’s best to consider complementary colors for your wedding. The Oregon wedding shared here features the perfect array of fall wedding colors. Consisting of warm tones that complimented Oregon’s Fall colors. The wedding blended into its environment, making it a flawlessly fall Oregon wedding.

Plan for the right wedding venue

To plan the perfect fall wedding in Oregon, you need to consider where your wedding will be. The best scenario is an outdoor wedding with some coverage. Fall in Oregon is unpredictable, and chances of rain are high so if you’re going to plan a fall wedding, search for a venue that will offer protection from possible rain. The Griffin House is a good example of this. Its ceremony location overlooks the incredible Columbia River and its offers a tented reception to shield guests from possible Oregon rain.

Layering up and firepits

A perfect Fall wedding requires you to expect the unexpected. Oregon’s Fall weather can start off warm, but as the sun sets, so does the temperature. Prepare a warm cozy wrap that compliments your look. Offer guests blankets, or wraps they can easily reach for. Better yet, see if firepits are allowed, this can double as a lounge area where guests can kick up their feet and relax.

I always say, your wedding day is special and specific to you. However, it is always best to trust your vendors and go to them for any questions or concerns. Check-in with your planners and coordinators about venue locations and weather prediction. And for the best Fall photos, check-in with your photographer about the best time for photos, especially during Fall when the sun sets sooner in the day.
