Getting creative with Oregon engagement photos
Emily and Austin are very easy going individuals. They were up for anything, more so during this pandemic. With the mandatory quarantine, we had to reschedule their engagement photos a couple times. Once we knew that Oregon opened up again, we acted fast to get out there and take these Oregon engagement photos. They were willing to trust me to make it happen, no matter how creative we had to get.
Committed to getting the scenic Mt. Hood engagement photos
We took their Oregon engagement photos in two locations. Austin really wanted Mt. Hood in the background and Emily requested a mountainside look. With a bit of hiking and adventure, we made it happen! The goal was to have fun and expect the unexpected. We knew we wanted to showcase Oregon and Mt. Hood, along with the sweet love of this fun couple!
We hiked into the Trillium Lake area for a romantic, woodsy environment. All the state parks were still closed, but backcountry areas were open. Although they were a bit harder to get to, they were accessible and resulted in just the experience and images these two were looking for. The second location was, believe it or not, on a turnout on the highway to Mt. Hood. Cars drove by and honked in encouragement (or at least that’s how I took it).
Classy engagement photo outfits
What really tied this shoot together was the contrast of the Oregon mountains with their classy attire. Emily wore a pastel blue dress (she wore a red one too!) and Austin kept it sleek with a white button-down shirt and slacks. Her blue dress was flowy and so perfect for an engagement shoot! She wore a smile like no other, and the pups added a sweet personal touch!
Thank you for trusting me with your Oregon engagement photos!
COVID-19 has gotten in the way of many things for us in the wedding industry. This couple’s trust in me to take their Oregon engagement photos, despite the lockdown of state parks, made my day! While the locations weren’t ideal, it was offbeat and adventurous, and it worked for this occasion. After months of patience and rescheduling, these two have their engagement photos at last!
It was so nice to get out there and photograph LOVE again. I say it often (and that’s a good thing), but I really do have the best couples, and I feel honored and blessed to be their photographer.
Thank you Emily and Austin for spending the day with me, driving and hiking around the beautiful Mt. Hood! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding, whether it’s this year or the next!
