Some couples prefer a wedding venue with a sense of sophistication and historical charm. The Heathman Hotel in Portland makes for a perfect quaint, yet romantic Portland wedding venue.
Heathman Hotel Wedding
The Heathman Hotel first opened in 1927 and is an ideal Portland wedding venue for smaller wedding parties. With an extraordinary library, impressive staircase (just the setting for a first look) and art-filled walls, you can’t help but feel like you’re walking into the backdrop of a novel or movie.
The venue itself can’t hold a big wedding, but it’s certainly full of big wedding details.
Young, Organic Love in Portland
Makayla and Drew were incredibly cute and so playful with each other. There wasn’t a moment when they didn’t smile and laugh after I asked them to look into each other’s eyes. It was adorable and reminded me so much of that young, organic love — butterflies in the belly and turning beet red.
Charmed by History & Details
The dress was a princess ball gown dress that was donated to Brides for a Cause. It was absolutely stunning and so affordable.
My favorite shot was of the bride lying down with her flowers. Getting that shot was a little challenging, but I love myself a little challenge.
The deep-seated history in contrast with the blush, feminine details resulted in extremely unique and cultivated photos.
Thank you Mak and Drew for working with me as I photographed your love and relationship in this charming setting. I hope I get to be a part of another Heathman Hotel wedding one day! It was a library wedding I won’t forget with its blush pink details and historical eloquence.
