The atmosphere was electric with anticipation and boundless excitement. As guests arrived, they were greeted with champagne while they took in the captivating landscape of Black Butte. Against the stunning backdrop of a serene lake and majestic mountains, the ceremony unfolded amidst a breathtaking display of vibrant floral arrangements. As the bride gracefully glided down the aisle, a vision of radiance and joy surrounded her. Her bouquet crafted by Swoon Floral Design, was a splendid burst of vibrant blooms in hues of oranges, pinks, corals, and lavender, danced harmoniously with the majestic backdrop of the ranch. It seemed as though the very essence of nature had conspired to adorn this moment. Families and friends were all smiles, and many were tearful from joy. It was clear that Danielle from Danielle DeMarco Events designed this wedding with intention because every bit was detail was tailored to our bride and groom’s personality.
Wedding + Cascade Mountain Range
Black Butte Ranch is located near Sisters, Oregon, just a few minutes from Bend, Oregon, and in the heart of the beautiful Cascade Mountain Range. It’s renowned for its stunning natural surroundings, including sweeping views of the Cascade Peaks, meadows, and forests. The resort offers various recreational activities such as golfing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and swimming, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil nature retreat.
But what’s more, is their renovated new lodge that allows breathtaking golden light to shine through. The lodge nestles within a grove of towering Pondersona Pines, offering panoramic views of the Three Sisters. For this specific wedding, the ceremony unfolded outdoors amidst the Aspen trees and beside the lake, while the reception took place indoors in the event space. What I love most about Black Butte Ranch is their attention to what matters. From the immaculate landscape to the architectural details that a photographer like me could admire. I would forever, again and again, photograph a wedding here.

Black Butte Ranch offers a variety of accommodations to suit different preferences and group sizes. From lodges to cabins and condos, it wouldn’t be too hard to secure a nice and pleasant stay on this property. As for weddings, there’s ample parking around the property, gated access, and a semi-private area for special events. The event room can hold up to 168 guests when designed in a banquet setting. Catering is in-house and features farm-to-table cuisine.
I’d like to mention that I received a vendor meal, however, due to the wedding’s tight schedule, it became cold. The venue team not only checked in on us but also offered to prepare a fresh, hot meal. Their dedication truly went above and beyond for everyone involved. As a Portland wedding photographer, I have captured many love stories in and around the area, but I have to say, going to central Oregon for weddings is always something I look forward to. This wedding, however, was something truly special. Their connection was palpable, their love infectious. And it was a joy to witness and an honor to document.
