A Waterfall Engagement Photo Adventure

If you’ve read through my site, you know how I mention over and over how much I love a little adventure and the great outdoors! Sometimes I think people read over that part, but not this couple! Jacqui and Logan’s Oregon engagement photos were everything I could have asked for — waterfalls, hiking, the cutest little bulldog EVER, more hiking, secluded island, epic sunset and amazing people!

Engagement photos with an amazing couple + a super in-shape bulldog

Fall weather is Portland, Oregon can be unpredictable. One week it can be sunny and a few days into the week can turn into rain. This Oregon engagement photo session was one of those. We expected sun, but got rain and ended opting to reschedule for another day and boy am I glad we did. Hiking in the mud with a dress on isn’t something I recommend for anyone, even the most adventurous out there. It was a cold day, but Jacqui and Logan’s fun and warm spirit warmed me up quickly. That and they made me hike, which can I just say, people that make me “work out” are the best people in the world!

Hiking to capture the perfect waterfall engagement photos

They brought their cutest companion, Beef, who is the most athletic bull dog I have ever met! After about 15-20 minutes of hiking (I think) we reached a breathtaking view of our engagement session spot. The whole place reminded me of Ireland, and I wish I can share all those pictures with you, but this is about our couple, not my obsession of the mini caves, great cliffs, mossy rocks…etc.. I digress. After changing into their attire, we walked a bit further to take in the entire waterfall and boy was it cold, but did that stop Jacqui and Logan from getting to the bottom of the falls? NOPE. Like I said, they’re amazing people who are game for almost anything. We had such a blast taking these waterfall engagement photos.

A trip to a secluded Oregon island

I decided to see if they’d trust me and take a ride to an island off of Cascade Locks. I knew the sun was setting, but I deeply wanted to end the day in a relaxed peaceful setting where they could settle quietly into each other’s arms surrounded by the wonderful scenery of the Columbia River Gorge of Oregon. The island did not disappoint to amaze and I spent the final sunset hour photographing them, capturing them laughing and loving each other. It was, simply put, a beautiful Portland engagement photo session spent with amazing people.

Thank you Jacqui and Logan for spending an adventurous day with me! I’ll be awestruck by these waterfall engagement photos for a long time. I can’t wait to photograph your 2020 wedding!

Cheers!

Rithy
